Raw water contains unwanted deposits, color, algae (which can cause taste and smell) and other harmful organisms. The Water Filtration Unit (WFP) is designed to remove this unwanted substance, as well as to produce potable and safe drinking water, So in order to filter this water filtration plant required.

5 stages of water purification

As a rule, they consist of several stages in the treatment process. These include: (1) Collection; (2) screening and filtering; (3) chemical addition; (4) coagulation and flocculation; (5) sedimentation and clarification; (6) filtration; (7) disinfection; (8) Storage; (9) and finally distribution.

cost of a water treatment plant

For most industrial applications, a WWTS capacity of 150,000 GPDs will cost from about 500,000 to 1.5 million US dollars, including all the necessary design, engineering, equipment, installation, and commissioning.

How is water treated?

Not all, but some follow this process: chlorine is added to wastewater treatment plants to kill bacteria; aluminum sulfate is added to coagulate organic particles; then the water is placed in a sump so that the sediment can settle; water is filtered through sand filters; water is purified by water filtration plant

filtering process

Filtration is the process of separating suspended solids from liquids, as a result of which the latter passes through the pores of a substance called a filter. The fluid passing through the filter is called the filtrate.

the first step in purifying water

Coagulation and flocculation are often the first steps in water treatment. Positive charge chemicals are added to the water. The positive charge of these chemicals neutralizes the negative charge of dirt and other dissolved particles in water.

chemicals are used to purify water

The chemicals that are used are, for example, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, citric acid, and chlorine dioxide. Purification from chlorine dioxide is used to remove organic impurities on ion-exchange resins. Before each cleaning treatment, the resins must be regenerated.

There are many types of aquarium filters on the market today. Each of them has a specific design for their preferences.

There are some basics that we should learn first of all, such as the size of the aquarium depending on the size and type of filter, as well as the three types of filtration that occur in the aquarium.

Three types: mechanical, chemical and biological filtration.

Mechanical filtration

Mechanical filtration is when water passes through a filter material that is designed to trap particles suspended in the water in your aquarium.

Chemical filtration

occurs when toxic chemicals pass through resin or medium. Some chemical filtration products target specific excess nutrients or chemicals from the aquarium.

Biological filtration

is the destruction of various bacteria. This is called the nitrogen cycle, in which waste, food, and mushrooms are destroyed and form ammonia. Ammonia is toxic to aquarium inhabitants. If there is room for the growth of beneficial bacteria, your nitrogen cycle will work correctly. A biological filter is indicated by the amount of space reserved for bacterial growth.

The most commonly used chemicals for water treatment:

Algicide.

Chlorine

Chlorine dioxide

Hydrochloric acid.

Soda ash or sodium bicarbonate.

chemical treatment

Chemical treatment (of hazardous waste) refers to treatment methods that are used to completely break down hazardous waste into non-toxic gases or, more often, to change the chemical properties of the waste, for example, by decreasing solubility in water. or neutralization of acidity

Purpose and Features

There are many methods that purify water today. They are divided into mechanical, biological and physicochemical. The simplest, as well as the most affordable way to get rid of pollution and fine particles, is to mechanically clean the water. By settling and filtering the liquid, it can be cleaned of sand, pieces of rust and other particles. This cleaning consists in the fact that with the help of various devices, such as grilles, sieves and other devices, the pollution is removed from the water. As for surface contamination, sedimentation tanks, oil traps, and oil and gas traps are used for such cleaning.

Because the quality of the water depends on how well the filter is selected. Mechanical filtration is used to purify water that is taken from rivers, lakes and other open water bodies. It is also used in home filtration systems and in large sewage treatment plants. This filtration is also used for wastewater treatment. This allows you to remove about 75 percent of insoluble substances from dirty household liquids and up to 95 percent from industrial ones.

Especially such cleaning is indispensable for owners of country houses. Of course, you can use the cesspool, but it has many disadvantages, including an unpleasant odor and lack of proper hygiene. As a result, many come to the conclusion that it is better to use small treatment plants with various filters. Similar facilities, but on a much larger scale, can be seen in urban wastewater treatment plants, which are designed for cities and towns.

Even in the city, the water in the faucet is polluted by simply moving through pipes. Therefore, it can have an unpleasant yellow color, an unpleasant smell, and taste. The use of such a liquid in everyday life is not always possible. It’s unpleasant to constantly clean pots and teapots from plaque, fix a washing machine, drink tea with a touch of chlorine or with grains of sand. For this, it is recommended to use filters even in the apartment.
